The International Federation of Black Prides, Inc (IFBP) is shocked and saddened at the recent California Supreme Court's ruling upholding the results of the divisive and discriminating California ballot initiative Proposition 8. The IFBP fully supports equality of all people who wish to enter into marriage.

Further, we believe that the rights, responsibilities and all legislated benefits that accompany marriage as an institution should be afforded to members of LGBT communities. The IFBP desires to forge a comprehensive outreach strategy that includes LGBT people of color and allied communities in providing effective messaging and strategies to aid our goal of achieving a successful end result on marriage equality and other critical issues facing our many diverse communities.
